The Economic News. The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday changed its guidelines regarding facemask. The WHO stated that face masks should be worn in public to prevent infection of Kovid-19. WHO Director General Dr. Tedrod Adhonam Gebreyes said that we have prepared the new guidelines by reviewing the available evidence and on the suggestions of international experts, civil society groups.

 

WHO's new guideline

Wearing a fabric mask should be mandatory for all healthy people. The fabric mask should have three layers. It has a cotton lining, outer layer of polyester and a filter made of polypropylene in the middle. Only those who are ill, wear medical grade masks.

Governments of all countries encourage the general public to wear masks. Where there is more infection, people should wear masks at all times. Also, wearing masks in crowded places such as railway stations, bus stands, hospitals and shops is very important.

In places where the level of infection is very high, all people should use medical-grade masks. Health workers as well as patients in hospitals and all those present there must wear medical-grade masks.

The mask also has some disadvantages. If the cloth mask is not replaced when wet, the risk of becoming infected increases. Along with this, people who apply masks fall prey to happiness and do not pay attention to social distancing.
