Stop touching the face if you want to avoid Corona from New York Times, even after 1.25 lakh deaths worldwide people are still touching face 23 times every hour

·      Two American and an Australian doctor studying face touching gave information

·      CDC and WHO have been refusing to touch nose, eyes, ears unnecessarily since the beginning.

·      Right now, people touch nose-eye 3-3 times, lips, cheeks, forehead and ear 1 time in 1 hour

Tara Parker Pope. Coronavirus has killed more than 1.20 lakh people all over the world so far. More than 2 million people are infected. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) and the WHO (World Health Organization) have been refusing people to wash their hands every two hours and unnecessarily touch their nose, eyes, ears to avoid infection with the epidemic. But surprisingly, people are still habitually touching various parts of their face (eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, forehead, chin) 23 times every hour. This has been disclosed by Dr. Nancy C. Elder of the United States, Dr. William P. Sawyer and Dr. McLaves of Australia. All three doctors are studying face touching. In a special conversation with the New York Times, he told that if people want to avoid Corona, people will have to give up the habit of needlessly touching their faces.

1- Touching the eyes, ears and nose is dirty habit, will not be easily touched

Dr. Nancy C. Elder, professor of family medicine at Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, says that touching the eyes, ears, and nose is a dirty habit. It is common to rub the eyes, scratch the nose, fingers on the cheeks and chin. Dr. Nancy gave the task to 79 people of her clinic staff and left her in a room for two hours. During the monitoring, it was found that all of them touched 19 different parts of their face within 1 hour. According to Nancy, the corona virus enters our respiratory system through the eyes, ears and nose, so people have to abandon the habit of touching the face.

2- People do not pay attention to public place and keep touching their face

Dr. William P. Sawyer, founder of Family Physicians and Henrythehand.com in Sharonville, Ohio, conducts awareness programs for people to sanitize their hands and avoid needlessly touching the 'T zone' (forehead, eye, nose and chin). Their programs range from children to elders. He says, "Everyone touches their face and leaving it is a difficult habit." I observe that even in this corona-like epidemic, people keep on touching the T zone of their face in public places like elevators, buses, trains, metro, cabs etc. If you never touch the mucous membrane of your face, you are less likely to suffer from respiratory infections or related illness. '

3- Many people touch the face 12 times in a minute.

Dr Mary-Louise McLaws, a professor of epidemics and infection at the University of South Wales, Sydney, and who designed a study report on a subject called 'Face Touching' in 2015, says that 'my report has become relevant in this era of Corona. I made this report based on my 26 students, in which people touch their faces an average of 23 times every hour. I go to many parts of the world in connection with the conference. I often see that people touch their eyes, nose, ears and foreheads nonchalantly in a dozen times within a minute. Rubbing the eyes, scratching the nose, choking with chin is a common habit, but it has to be abandoned due to an epidemic like corona. '
